door | 22 jan 2024 | Nieuws

Mid-December, Laurent Delaunay took over from François Labet as President of the BIVB. He will hold this position for 2 years.
In his inaugural speech, Laurent Delaunay paid tribute to his predecessors, Pierre-Henry Gagey, Frédéric Drouhin and Louis-Fabrice Latour, emphasising their influence on his own commitment to the industry.
The President then spoke of his new role and priorities, highlighting the “Objectif Climat” plan at the heart of his strategy. He emphasised the need to involve all those working in the industry in achieving this carbon neutral objective, proposing platforms for discussion and conferences in the vineyards to promote ecological transition.
On the economic front, he called for the modernisation of the industry, notably through contractual practices and economic regulation of supply. He is calling for collective thinking on ways to better manage fluctuations in production.
In terms of communication, the Chairman would like to improve the distribution of economic and technical information. Finally, he stressed the importance of promoting the appellations internationally, encouraging the implementation of simple, responsive procedures.
The BIVB is committed to a future focused on the environment, economic modernisation, improved communication and vigorous promotion of Bourgogne’s appellations on a global scale. An exciting new chapter is beginning for the Bourgogne wine industry!
