The March 2020 edition of the biennial Grands Jours de Bourgogne industry event has had to be postponed until March 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But, in the meantime, Les Grands Jours en Caves, a “lite” version of the main event, will run from 15-19 March 2021.

The Grands Jours en Caves interim trade event will maintain the conviviality of the Grands Jours du Bourgogne and provide professionals with a welcome opportunity to stay in touch during these tough times. Winestore owners, restaurateurs, importers, journalists and traders will all be welcome to visit Bourgogne wine producers in their cellars to sample their wines and keep in touch.

“We fear that international travel may still be impacted by the pandemic in March 2021, so we felt it unwise to reschedule the main event so soon,” explains Raphaël Dubois, Président of the Grands Jours de Bourgogne. “But we were missing our customers and still wanted to be able to welcome those in or who can get to the region – such connections are essential for us!” he adds.

This solution is only possible thanks to the tireless work of the event’s partners: The Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB); the Regional Council of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté; the Departmental Councils of Côte d’Or, Saône et Loire, and the Yonne; and the Crédit Mutuel bank, which sponsors the event.
The support of winegrowers’ management bodies (ODGs) is also key to ensuring the success of this event, along with the work of all the volunteers, employees of local bodies, and service providers.
